About “Burnsy”

My name is Rory Burns. I was born in California, I spent my early childhood in Westchester County, NY, and then grew up in Red Hook, NY. While in Red Hook, I got the nickname “Burnsy” from my 7th grade history teacher, Mr. Armstrong. It stuck with all of my friends and teachers after that. I’ve always had a love of media, and I love telling stories, so I went to school for video production.
I worked in the New York State Senate as a videographer. In my time in Albany, I’ve made videos for PSAs, special occasions, and standard videos for senators to keep their constituents updated on events on the senate floor.
Working under the frantic constraints of the New York State Senate was straining on my creativity and work ethic, so I decided to go into business for myself (and for you). In my spare time, I would of course take pictures of my dogs, and I got into some toy photography as well to help add to the repertoire.
